Alan Leon Sackrider, 67, of Cameron, Chetek Township, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health Care System-Northland in Barron.  Alan was born on July 10, 1947 in Terre Haute, Indiana the son of E. Leon and Roberta (Lovelace) Sackrider.

Alan leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Salena Sackrider, Chetek, WI; stepchildren: Sarah Rich, Minneapolis, MN; Christen (Nick) Thomas, Lawrenceburg, IN; granddaughter, Ava Thomas, sister, Ann Sackrider-Carlisle, Terre Haute, IN; nephew, James Hartman and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Leon and Roberta and his first wife Connie.

Alan graduated college with a Bachelor's Degree in Management.  He was currently the 2nd Vice District 27-E1 of the Lions Club, President of Chetek Lions Club, immediate Past President of Chetek Lions Club; District 27 E-1 Region 3 Zone 1 Chair; District 27 E-1 ALERT Chair; Melvin Joens Fellowship Award recipient, District Governor's "Opening the Door to Service Award"; Leadership Training "Communicate Like a Leader"; Grasp of the "Lionism" concept; Director of the Red Cedar Orchestra.  Also he was a Member of the Lake Protection Association, Member of the Chetek Museum, Life Master Duplicate Bridge and enjoyed living the Wisconsin life.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek.  Alan’s family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 10 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.   Pallbearers are Dave Smith, John Barnes, Joshua Fortin, Dennis Thraen, Mike Kelly and James Babbit.

Alan will be laid to rest at the Faaberg Cemetery in rural Cameron in the spring.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
