Allen Wayne Matson, age 73, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on March 21, 2025, in Cameron, Wisconsin.
Allen was born to Edna and Wayne Matson on August 17, 1951, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
Allen had a deep love for the open road and the outdoors. He found joy in motorcycle rides on his beloved Harley-Davidson, as well as ATV and snowmobile excursions. Allen was an active member of both the Snowmobile Club and the ATV Cruisers for many years. Allen cherished the friendships and memories made through these activities.
He also treasured his time at the family farm, where he enjoyed the company of loved ones and friends, whether doing projects or simply relaxing.
After dedicating 40 years to Dairyland Power, Allen retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. In his later years, he enjoyed leisurely trips to the casino.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wayne Matson.
Allen is survived by his loving wife, Karen Matson, mother, Edna Matson, children, Andy (Stephanie) Wicherski of Green Bay, WI, and Allison (Brian) Esberner of South St. Paul, MN, grandchildren, Kassie (Riley) and Kori, and siblings, Anne Watton of Chetek, Bob (Loretta) Matson of Lacrosse, WI, and Bill Matson of Earlville, IL, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held the following day on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cameron at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 10:00 AM. The family invites those attending to a luncheon following the service in the church's fellowship hall.
