Anna Helen Langman, 88 of Chetek, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side. Anna was born October 29, 1925 in Bloomer, WI the daughter of John and Katherine Sykora.
Anna worked alongside her husband Raymond on the farm, helping with chores, a homemaker and raising their 5 children. She was always there for the family and made sure all the relatives were feeling at home when visiting the farm. You can be certain no one went home hungry with Anna in the kitchen. She loved playing cards, especially while the other players were distracted to maybe get her partner a good card. Playing the squeeze box and listening to polkas were high on Anna’s list of music along with numerous religious songs. She taught religious classes for many years and brought up her family to be Christians and always to think of the needs of others.
Anna was also a Eucharistic Minister at Mass and a member of the Church Woman’s Group to help with church gatherings, cooking and always lending a helping hand.
Anna leaves to celebrate her memory: 3 sons: Steve (Dawn) Langman, Fred (Kathy) Langman, Tom (Debra) Langman, 2 daughters: Jane Langman and Joanne Austin, 16 Grandchildren, Kristen Langman, Scott (Christy) Langman, Angie (Dwayne) May, Jennifer (Kevin) Reese, Michelle (Jamie) Slack, Andrew Langman, Matthew Langman, Aimee Langman, Lorree (Steve Christianson) Langman, Loni (Mesh) Yego, Shane Austin, 4 Step-grandchildren, Jeremy Switzer, Josh (Marybeth) Tomsovic, Laura Tomsovic, 2 Honorary Great Grandchilden, Love and Jonathan Christianson, 5 Great-grandchildren, Mason and Brady Langman, Alexus Yego, Parker Slack, Elsie Reese and 4 Step-great grandchildren, Carson and Tia Switzer, Alexis and Nolan Tomsovic. Also survived by 1 brother, Richard Sykora; 4 sisters, Regina Rogge, Agnes Prochnow, Rosie (Dave) Quinlan, Theresa (Clarence) Shakal; 1 brother & sister-in-law, Lloyd (Jackie) Langman, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Raymond H. Langman, parents, 9 Siblings; Archie Sykora, Christina Hagen, Helen Pecha, Sister Mary Jane Catherine Sykora, Aloisius Sykora, Ernest Sykora, John Sykora, Jr., Joseph Sykora and Mary Prince.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Anna & Raymond on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek with Father Gerard Willger officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 4-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the most Holy Rosary being said at 7:00 P.M. Anna’s family will greet guests at the church on Monday one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery following the service.
