Anna M. (Dubois) Nelson

August 22, 1923 — November 5, 2020

Anna M. Nelson, 97, of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Meadowbrook at Chetek from the Covid 19 virus.

Anna, usually called Ann or Annie was born Aug 22, 1923 to John and Agnes DuBois, in Apple River Township, WI. She spent her early years in Chetek. Graduating from Chetek High School in 1941. Ann married Milton {Bob} Bailkey In December of 1941. They lived for many years in St. Paul, MN before moving back to Chetek in 1964. Together they raised sixteen children. Bob passed away in 1967.

In 1980 she married Walt Lojewski.  Walt passed away in 1996. Ann stayed on the farm for a few more years before moving into town.

In 2007 she married George Nelson. They spent six wonderful years together before George passed away in January of 2013.

Ann loved to garden, canning and freezing much of what she grew. She also enjoyed sewing and made many lovely things. Most of all she loved her family and any excuse to bring them altogether. The DuBois Family Reunion, held in Chetek, was a must every summer, bringing together all the extended family of John and Agnes DuBois.

In 2014 Ann had a stroke and has been a resident of Knapp Haven since then. October 28 th she tested positive for covid-19 and went home to Jesus on November 5 th .  Ann was a member of St. Boniface Church and served with the Ladies Guild for many years.

Anna leaves to celebrate her memory: children: Linda Rowan, Lance (Linda) Bailkey, Denise Mattison, Joe Bailkey, Yvette Pasholk and Vince (Jenelle) Bailkey, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren, brothers Ted DuBois and Allen (Carla) DuBois

She was preceded in death by: parents:  John and Agnes DuBois, husbands: Milton Bailkey, Walt Lojewski and George Nelson, children:  Ann Marie Bailkey, Aaron, Lisa Theroux, Mark, Matthew, Jim, Judy McCann, Janel Wilson, Brad and Mary Bailkey

A Private Family Memorial Mass will be held at St. Boniface Catholic church.  Those attending please wear facial coverings and practice the advised social distancing guidelines.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
