Ardyce Elaine Bakken, 83 of Chetek passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. She was born in Barron County June 30, 1931, the daughter of Arvel and Mabel (Gilberts) Bakken.
Ardyce was employed for 36 years at Northern Colony in Chippewa Falls, WI until her retirement in January 1988. Ardyce and her sister Idell wintered in Zephyr Hills, Florida and spent the remaining time at their lake house in Chetek. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with her sister extensively around the United States, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands. Ardyce had a passion for her manicured lawn and detailed perennial beds. Ardyce was one of the original members of Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek as well as a member of the Red Hats Society in Florida.
She is survived by her Nephews and Niece; Michael (Julie) Bakken of Menomonie, Tim Bakken of New York, Jeff Bakken of Eau Claire, Eva (Keith) Napolitano of Eau Claire, 4 Grandnieces; Sedona, Keira, Mariah, Marissa Bakken, Sister-in-law; Judith Bakken of Eau Claire, other Aunts, Uncles and many Cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Idell Bakken and one brother, Dennis Bakken.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church at 11:00 A.M, Pastor Tylan Dalrymple officiating. The visitation will be held at church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Active pallbearers are Michael Bakken, Tim Bakken, Jeff Bakken, Eva Napolitano, Tom Michels and Bill Jennings. Burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery. A luncheon and continued fellowship will be held at the church following the burial.
