Arnold Frederick Keopp, 93 of Chetek,
Wisconsin
passed away on
Wednesday, April 6, 2011
at the Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. Arnold was born on September 21, 1917 in Dallas,
Wisconsin
the son of John and
Florence
(
Davis
) Keopp.
Arnold
received his education at the
Pleasant Hill
School
. After his schooling he worked on the family farm and also as a carpenter with his father building many family homes and barns all over the area. He then entered the
United States
Army in January of 1941 until his honorable discharge
October 29, 1945
.
Arnold
was a WWII Veteran.
He then returned to the Chetek area where he then continued his craft as a carpenter and home builder. He was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed wood carving, spending time with his family and friends and truly enjoyed gardening which showed with his large garden.
Arnold
was a member of the Chetek American Legion for over 65 years.
Arnold’s memory is celebrated by his sister, Elaine “Jackie” Kurth and her husband Merlin of Denver, CO, stepchildren, Lorraine Peterson, Eau Claire, Ray Olson, Chetek, step grandchildren, Carol (Richard) Froehlich, Laurie Hysen (Al), Judy (Mike) Wampole, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Emily.
Funeral service for
Arnold
will be held on
Monday, April 11, 2011
at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek at 1;00 P.M. Pastor Greg Harm will officiate the service. The family will greet visitors at the funeral home from
11:00 A.M.
until the time of service.
Arnold
will be laid to rest next to his wife Emily at the
Lakeview
Cemetery
following the service with full military honors by the Chetek American Legion. Casket bearers will be Rich Froehlich, Carol Froehlich, Matthew Hysen, Alan Hysen and Ray Olson.
The Burnham-Ours Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
