Bernice Lucy Anderson, 96, of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Mayo Clinic Health Care System in Eau Claire, with her family at her side. Bernice was born on April 14, 1919 in Port Angeles, Washington. She graduated from high school in Port Angeles and moved to the Chetek area after the birth of her daughter Barbara. She worked at Carlson’s Processing Plant and then Chetek Industries before taking a position at the Knapp Haven Nursing Home for 28 years. Throughout her life she returned to Washington with family and friends for vacations. She enjoyed bowling and participated for many years on local bowling teams.
Bernice leaves to celebrate her memory: her daughter, Barbara (Donald) Bredvick, Chetek, her seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, one step great great grandchild, sisters-in-law, Yvonne Anderson and Cecilia Anderson and other loving family and friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Carey, daughter, Eileen Fraley and her husband Chester, Bernice’s 1 st husband, Ernest M. Anderson and her 2 nd husband, Arthur L. Anderson.
A Celebration of Life for Bernice will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chetek Lutheran Church. Bernice’s family will be greeting guests at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Following the service the family invites their guests to join them in the church fellowship hall for lunch and fellowship. Bernice will be laid to rest at the Zion Cemetery in Sandcreek.
