Blakely Howard Uren

Blake Howard U’Ren, 89 of Chetek passed away after a long illness at his residence Sunday, January 31, 2016 with his loving wife by his side.  He was born August 10, 1926 in Angus, Wisconsin the son of Maurice and Emma (Bollman) U’Ren.

Blake joined the Army in 1944, served overseas in Okinawa and Japan and discharged in 1947.  He was a truck driver until he was disabled in 1976.  His family, travelling friends, golf and trucks were his main interests.  He will be sadly missed by all.

Blake is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan (Arneson) U’ren, 2 sons; James (Brenda), Jack (Peggy), son-in-law; Mike Kennedy.  Also survived by 8 grandchildren; Chad, Adam, Kelsey, Kelly Ann, Jeffrey, Jodi, Lauren, Jacob and 15 great-grandchildren; Blake, Bailey, McKensey, Nicole, Becca, Barrett, Gabby, Emma, Ava, Andrew, Ashleigh, Presley, Gracie, Adriana, and Reynolds.  He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Julie, brother Alan, 2 sisters, Carol Parker, Evelyn Johnson and one grandchild, Heather Thorne.

A memorial service for Blake will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 5 at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home with Pastor Norm Phillips officiating.  Military honors will be performed at the funeral home following the service.  Family and friends may visit from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service.  A luncheon and continued fellowship will be held at the Howard-Campbell-Ganske American Legion Post #179 at noon.  Please view and sign the online guestbook at www.burnhamours.com .
