Bobbie Freeman Turney, Sr., 88, of Chetek, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the Just Like Home Care Facility in Chetek. Bobbie was born on October 14, 1927 the son of John Henry and Sylvia Ann (Bartlett) Turney. Bobbie was a career man in United States Air force serving his country for 34 years. He was a Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed fishing and cooking.
Bobbie is survived by his sister, Beverly (Roger) Knudson, West Des Moines, IA, grandchildren, Adam Turney, Kale Turney and Caroline Hood, great grandchildren, six step-children, David Sutton, MO, Chuck (Carol) Sutton, IL, Rick (Joanne) Sutton, IL, Peggy Sutton, IL, Bob (Jody) Sutton, MO and Debi (Tim) Long, WI, numerous step-grandchildren, his niece, Judy (Jerry) Shelton, Lynn Haven, FL, special friend, Rita Carrol and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sylvia Turney, 1st wife, Lily Turney, 2nd wife, Mary Elizabeth “Bette” Turney, son, Bobbie Turney Jr. and his brother Cecil Turney.
Bobbie will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery in Spooner, WI at 10:00 A.M. Friday June 17, 2016.
