Carole Jean (Trewartha) France

Carole J. France, 68 of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. Carole was born on October 13, 1943 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin the daughter of William and Lelace Trewartha.

Carole worked at Luther Hospital Food Service and Peter’s Meats before graduating from Memorial High School in 1961. She attended UW-Stout, graduating in 1965 with a degree in Art Education. After practice teaching in Colfax Schools, she taught art classes at Janesville Marshall Middle School for 3 years. She married David France in Chetek, Wisconsin in 1972. Carole was a homemaker for the next several years, also working at a trailer manufacturer in Cameron, for Indianhead Home Healthcare, and was Director of the Rice Lake Senior Center for the City of Rice Lake for 8 years. After special training in New York, she was instrumental in establishing the Day Break Program for Alzheimer’s and Senile Dementia affected families in Rice Lake. Carole was a Certified Nursing Assistant, working at facilities in both Chetek and Rice Lake. Carole had a loving heart, and enjoyed caring for people.

Carole leaves to celebrate her memory: husband, David of Chetek, children: Jneya Stoik of Chetek, Ryan France of Plymouth, MN, granddaughter: Jasmyn Stoik of Chetek, step-son: Michael (Michelle) France of Salem, WI, step-grandson: Jaime France of Salem, WI, sisters-in-law: Carol, Marilyn, Gerry and Suzan, nieces, nephews, cousins, many other loving family & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dory Biesterveld and brothers: Frank, Jay, Don and Chuck Trewartha.

The funeral service for Carole will be held at the Chetek United Methodist Church, 300 Stout Street, Chetek, Wisconsin on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Carrie Hamm will officiate the service.

Carole’s family will be greeting visitors Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 4 to 7 P.M. at Burnham Ours Funeral Home in Chetek, WI, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
