Charleen J. Haley (nee Mamelli) 88 of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek with her family at her side.
Charleen was preceded in death by her husband Dave and her brother Joe. She leaves to celebrate her memory, sons David (Terry) of Farmington, MN; Michael of Chetek; daughter Anita (Dave) Simpson of Barlette, TN; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brother Roy, and nieces, newphews and friends.
Charleen is a retired airline stewardess (flight attendant) from Northwest Orient, she was first of tweleve American women to cross the International Dateline by air in 1947. Charleen enjoyed spending time volunteering at many places including Knapp Haven.
Funeral service will be Monday, February 27th at 2:00 P.M. at the Burnham Ours Funeral Home, 206 Schofield St., Chetek, Wisconsin. Charleen's family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M. Charleen will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Lake View Cemetery in Chetek, Wisconsin.
