Darrell Duane Mares

Darrell Duane Mares, age 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He was born the first month, 8th day, of 1956 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Bill and Judy (Nelson) Mares.
He was a 1974 graduate of Chetek High School. He married Susie on February 7, 1987 in Chetek, Wisconsin.
He was a maintenance man with Core Products International, displaying an uncanny ability to design and build any project that was brought before him. Darrell lived his life through simple pleasures; fishing, hunting, Green Bay Packers, working on a family cabin in Minong, Wisconsin and spending time with his wonderful grandsons.
Darrell is survived by his wife Susie, their 2 sons, Rich (Danea) Hamholm, Nate (Sheila) Hamholm; 2 grandsons, Austin and Owen; 3 sisters, Sue (Bill) Clark, Lori Mares, Jane Curavo; 2 brothers, Dave Mares, John Mares and many family relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Judy Mares and one brother, Joe Mares.
A memorial service is being planned privately by his family.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
