David Martin “Sysco Dave” age 68, passed away October 12, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in West Union, Iowa February 21, 1948, son of Robert and Norma (Cooley) Martin.
Dave graduated from North High in 1966, February 1968 Dave joined the United States Army. After serving in Vietnam was honorably discharged in December 1969. Dave married Linda Biermann on April 3, 1970 and together raised two children; Shari and Bill. Dave worked for Sysco Foods until retiring in 2015 due to illness. Dave had a great love for his family, friends and customers. He loved hunting, bass fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Dave is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Shari (Butch Ross), son Bill (Faye Witcraft), mother-in-law Shirley Biermann, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and six sisters; Linda (Duane) Mork, Mary (Wayne) Artman, Bonnie (Kent) Halverson, Pam (Jim) Longtine, Pat (Ron) Paine, Kristi (Kent) Payne, three brothers; Don (Rita) Martin, Reid (Sandy) Martin, Doug (Linda) Martin, one uncle Darold Martin, “stepson” Wade Rickey and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepmother Phyllis and father-in-law Harlan Biermann.

A memorial service for Dave will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Red Cedar Church, 1701 W. Allen Street, Rice Lake, WI with Pastor Todd Arneson officiating. Visitation will be held at Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home Thursday, October 20 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Dave will be laid to rest following the service at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI with Military honors present.
