David Jerome Reese

David Jerome Reese, 92, of New Auburn, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer, Wisconsin. David was born on December 2, 1921 the son of Catherine and Hector Reese.

As a young man he was enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1942 – 1946. He was in the Parachute Infantry and received the Purple Heart Medal for brave actions in WWII. He later worked as a Chicago Fire Fighter until retiring. He and his wife Juanita moved to New Auburn, Wisconsin around 1987 where they lived their retirement years.

David leaves to celebrate his memory: stepdaughters, Renee Gayle Jewett and Robin (Raul) Jewett-Hernandez, step grandchildren: Christine Lynn Gallardo, Tina Marie Melvin, Trisha May Henley, Edward Hernandez, Vincent Hernandez and Raul Hernandez Jr., step great grandchildren: Norma Gallardo, Ophelia Gallardo, Jennah Hernandez, Elijah Hernandez, Breanna Hernandez, Alexzandra Hernandez, Evan Hernandez and Ava Hernandez, niece, Jeannie Tranter and her sons Patrick (Tracy) Clayton and their son P.J. and Michael Clayton and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Juanita Geraldine Reese and step daughter, Denise Renee Jewett and his sister Betty Fisher.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in New Auburn with Father John Potaczek celebrating. David’s family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:30 A.M. until the time of service. The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship in the church fellowship hall following the Memorial Mass. David will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek with full military honors following the luncheon.
