Dennis J. Homme

Dennis J. Homme, 70, of Cameron, Wisconsin passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at the V.A. Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Dennis was born March 26, 1948 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin the son of Norman and Margaret (Stauner) Homme.

Dennis grew up in Sand Creek WI, going to school and graduating from Chetek High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force) after graduation where he specialized in pneudraulics and served in the Vietnam War. He worked a variety of jobs after the war including welder, oil rig crewman, lumberjack, silo crewman, and carpenter. He remained active in veterans groups, serving as the Commander of Chetek VFW Post 10331. Dennis loved being around family and friends, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and taking care of his dogs.

Dennis leaves to celebrate his memory, wife, Kathleen Homme, Cameron, WI; children: Dawn (Matthew) Paulus, New Richmond, WI; Darrin (Greta) Homme, Plymouth, MN; Deanna Homme (Cory Whidby), New Richmond, WI; Michael Homme, Chetek, WI and Melissa Homme, Barron, WI; his two fur babies, Kozmo and Jasper, grandchildren, Riley, Baily, Cayden, Brynn, Reis, Preston, Vivian, Simon, Taylor, Asher, Kailyn, Peytyn, Mikayla, Dylan and Sierra, great grandchildren, Evelyn and Avery, siblings, Gloria  Bresina, Altoona; Richard Homme, Winter; Kenneth (Janet) Homme, New Auburn; Joan (Gregory) Davis, Chetek; Brian Homme, Bloomington, MN; Dean Homme, Hammond; Jeffrey (Terri) Homme, Madison; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Margaret Homme, siblings, Diane Thurston, David Homme and Rodney Homme.

A Memorial service for Dennis will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 A.M.  Military Honors will be rendered by the Chetek V.F.W. following the service at the funeral home.  Dennis will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
