Dorothy May (Seever) Francois

Dorothy May Francois, 91, of Chetek, passed away on Saturday, December 14 ^th , 2019 at the Meadow Brook Home in Chetek.  Dorothy Seever was born on April 23, 1928 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin the daughter of John and Permelia Seever.

Dorothy married Elmer “Jiggs” Francois Jr. on January 21, 1950 in Pine City, Minnesota.  The couple made their home in the Chetek area on the family farm where they raised their two sons, Dennis and David.  She helped “Jiggs” on the family farm.  She also had various jobs outside of the home in the area.  She enjoyed cooking, farming, playing cards, bingo, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.  She will be dearly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Dennis (Joyce) Francois, Chetek, WI, and David (Kathryn) Francois, Chetek, WI; grandchildren, Maria, Jamie, Jonathan, Tracy and Jason; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Andrew, Mikey, Bailey, Bryce, Dakota, Sara, Jenna and Jakob; great-great-grandchild, Antitashia. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Permelia (Von Shoick) Seever; husband, Elmer “Jiggs” Francois Jr.; siblings, Alvin, Malcom, Norman, Henry, Duane, Lucille, Bernice and Jenny and great-grandson, Austin.

Celebration of Life will be held at Chetek United Methodist Church on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.  Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M.

Please join the family for lunch and continued fellowship in the church fellowship hall following the service.  Dorothy will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek in the spring.
