Eileen Bernice Fraley, 70 of Chetek and Rockport, Texas passed away at her Chetek home Sunday, May 19, 2013. She was born on May 25, 1942 in Chippewa County and lived much of her life in Chetek, Iola, Wisconsin and Rockport, Texas. She was the youngest daughter of Bernice and Ernest Anderson. Eileen worked in the administration for both Chetek and Iola public schools.
Eileen filled her free time with many loves. First and foremost, she was an avid outdoors person. The season mattered not. In the winter, she cross-country skied and snow-shoed. Spring and summer was spent gardening, hiking fishing, camping, visiting state and national parks. Eileen enjoyed golf (in her mind she was a scratch golfer). After the sun went down she devoured books; her book and author list was long and varied. A summer rarely passed that she did not make a canoe trip into the Quetico and Boundary Waters. She wintered these last ten years on the Texas Gulf Coast. In that time she gave up the snow sports for kayaking, bird watching and long walks on the beach and around her home.
Eileen is survived by her two children: Scott (Susan) Davis and Sandra (Jeff) White of Chetek; mother, Bernice Anderson of Chetek; sister, Barbara (Don) Bredvick of Chetek; and her companion for the past twelve years Michael Peters. Proud grandmother of Maria (Eric) Mathison of Chippewa Falls, WI; Megan Davis of River Falls, WI; Matthew Davis of Chetek; Pascale (John) Lee of Phoenix, AZ; Zachary King of Duluth, WI; Ashley Langer, USMC, Hubert, NC; and Megan White of Chetek, WI; Great-Grandmother of Olivia and a second great—granddaughter on the way. Eileen is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Eileen is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Anderson and husband, Chester Fraley.
