Elaine Martha (Olson) Ross

Elaine Martha Ross, 85, of Chetek, passed away on Wednesday, September 04, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health Care System Northland in Barron, Wisconsin.  Elaine was born on September 20, 1927 in Whitehall, Wisconsin the daughter of Palmer and Evelyn (Risberg) Olson.

Elaine was a graduate of nursing school in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  She worked for many years as a nurse in Eau Claire and Barron Counties until she retired in 1992.  She was a member of the Chetek Lutheran Church where she was an active member of the Deborah Circle.  She enjoyed reading, fishing and spending time with her family.  She loved the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers and was an avid sports fan.

Elaine leaves to celebrate her memory: her children, Daniel Thiel, Chetek, WI; Kathleen Thiel (George), Chetek, WI; Robert (Leslie) Ross II, Wausau, WI; daughter-in-law, Amber Thiel, Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Andy Thiel (Heather), Janice Anderson, Joe Wells and Jackson Ross, brother, Roger Olson, Park Rapids, MN; nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Ross and son, David Thiel.

The funeral service for Elaine will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.at the Chetek Lutheran Church.  Elaine’s family will greet visitors at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and then again at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  Elaine will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek following the service.

Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
