Estelle Genevieve (Anderson) Nielsen

February 7, 1913 — April 6, 2013

Estelle Genevieve Nielsen, 100, of Chetek, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Dallas Care Center.  Estelle was born and raised in Shafer, Minnesota on February 7, 1913 the daughter of Jennie (Chinander) and Frithhoef Anderson.  She graduated from Taylor Falls High School.  She married William Nielsen in 1938 and raised three children on the east side of St. Paul.  She was a dedicated homemaker who loved to bake (especially cookies) and cook.  She kept a daily diary since 1930.  In 1972 Bill and Estelle moved to Chetek.  Both were active in Senior Citizens and Chetek Lutheran Church.  Her greatest joys were visits from children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Estelle leaves to celebrate her memory: children Beverly (Darrell) Skoug, Chetek, WI; Gary (Judy) Nielsen, Chetek, WI; and Charles (Colleen) Nielsen, Forest Lake, MN; grandchildren: Wendy (Hugh) Raddenbach, Steve (Amy) Skoug, Eric (Kris) Skoug, Douglas (Brooke) Nielsen, LeAnn (Matthew) Schilts, Kristine (Jerome) Balsimo and Brian (Jolene) Nielsen, 15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  Estelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William in 1995 and two sisters, Clara Johnson and Irene Klepper.

Funeral services for Estelle will be held at the Chetek Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.   Lay Pastor John Kurschner will officiate.   Estelle’s family will be greeting visitors at church on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.   Estelle’s family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship in the church basement following the funeral service.

Estelle will be laid to rest alongside her husband William at the Lake View Cemetery in Chetek.  Pallbearers will be Hugh Raddenbach, Matthew Schilts, Doug Nielsen, Steve Skoug, Eric Skoug and Brian Nielsen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Chetek Lutheran Church.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
