Ethel Ann Turauski, age 95, passed away peacefully at Cambridge Senior Living in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on February 25, 2023, surrounded by her children.
Ethel was born to John and Mary Matisko on March 28, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois.
Ethel was a longtime resident of Chetek, Wisconsin. She and her husband Ed moved their family from Illinois in 1956, when they became the owners of the Rusk Farm Tavern and Dance Hall, a fire destroyed their home and business in 1968. After the fire, they moved the family to Chetek and started Northwest Roofing, where Ethel worked in the office in the early years of the business. She was a vehement reader and loved to solve crossword puzzles in her spare time. Ethel participated in leagues for both bowling and golfing. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and going to the casino. Ethel was a loving mother and grandmother, she never missed any of her grandchildren's events. She will be dearly missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Matisko, husband, Ed Turauski, grandson, Andrew Cipov, and brothers, Joe and John Matisko.
Ethel leaves to celebrate her memory, children, Sharon (Ray) Maggi, Diane (Larry) Cipov, Edward John (Lori) Turauski, Thomas (Linda) Turauski, Gail (Thomas) Nelson, grandchildren, Ryan (Angie) Maggi, Chad Maggi, Christine (Charles) Maxwell, Paula Cipov, Travis (Bre) Turauski, Joshua (Amanda) Turauski, Lisa (Mike) Parks, Andrea (Ryan) Motzer, Tracy (Daniel) Nevarez, Maggie (Sean) Hilpisch, 16 great-grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
