Frances Margaret (Doonan) Pederson
January 3, 1919 — March 10, 2012
Frances M. Pederson, 93, of Chetek, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at
Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Frances was born January 3, 1919 in Barron, Wisconsin to Hugh and Anna
Doonan. She graduated from Barron High School in 1937. After graduation
she worked at the Yellow Lodge in Chetek. Frances married Percy W.
Pederson on November 26, 1938, and they farmed in the Town of Sioux Creek
until their retirement. After they retired, they traveled with friends and
enjoyed time with their grandchildren. Frances was an active member of
Dovre Lutheran Church, where she served as council secretary for many
years and enjoyed quilting and other church functions with her long-time
friends. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and a good scary movie once
in a while. A weekly card game with friends was her favorite pastime in
recent years.
Frances leaves to celebrate her memory: two daughters, Kay (Robert)
Harings, and Kristy (Jerry) Taft, all of Chetek, seven grandchildren,
Brent (Chris) Harings, Charmaine (Chris)Mlejnek, Peggy (Dan) Cunningham,
Kim (Robert) Ryan, Heidi (Tim) Ryan, Scott Taft (Heidi Prissel) and Ginger
Taft (Charles Rota), twelve great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews
and other loving family and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Percy, in 1993, her parents,
Hugh and Anna Doonan, and three brothers, Kenneth Doonan, Hugh Doonan, Jr.
and Patrick Doonan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 at Dovre Lutheran
Church at 12 Noon, with Pastor Richard Noelder officiating. Visitation
will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at noon.
Following the service, the family would like to invite their guests to join them for
lunch and fellowship.
Frances will be laid to rest alongside her husband Percy at the Dovre
Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Casket Bearers will be Brent Harings, Sean Harings, Scott Taft, Hans Harings, Mitchell Harings and Sam Cunningham.
The Burnham-Ours Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
