Frank George Krukowski, 88, of Chetek, WI, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.
Frank was born on July 4, 1924 and lived much of his life in or around the Chetek area. He proudly served his country during WWII earning a Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster and a Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Tunison), sisters, Ann and Sophie, brother, Stanley and his son James.
Frank leaves to celebrate his memory, son, John (Trista) , Ladysmith, WI; daughters, Debra, Chetek, WI; Kris (Jodi), Bloomer, WI; and Betsy (Monte), Chetek, WI; grandchildren: Logan, Jessie, James and Christy, great granddaughter, Sylvana, brothers Ted and Joe and his sister Helen.
Frank was a simple man who loved life. If you didn’t find him fishing he was likely in the woods hunting, tending to his garden or on his way to a Chinese buffet with his son for dinner. He was a writer, a philosopher and an intelligent man who understood that life isn’t about what you own but about who you are and how you treat others.
The funeral service for Frank will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek at 11:00 A.M. Frank’s family will be greeting friends at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Frank will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner with full military honors following the funeral service. Casket Bearers will be James French, Logan Krukowski, Tina Krukowski, John Krukowski, Monte French and Layne French.
