Frederick C. Sharpley, 83 of Cameron passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at his residence.  He was born December 9, 1930 in Two Rivers, WI  the son of Gladys E. (Day-Sharpley) Hendricks.

Fred married Nancy Jane Selkow July 16, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for 9 years, including service during the Korean Conflict.   After his military service, Fred and Nancy lived in Chicago for 4 years before moving to Wisconsin in 1961.  Together, they began dairy farming in the Chetek/Cameron area.  After Fred had heart bypass surgery in 1996, he retired from dairy farming.  Fred and Nancy enjoyed gardening and became involved in the farmers market in Barron and Rice Lake, where they managed for 6 years.  Anyone who met him would not soon forget his contagious laugh, his love for family, a story he would share (sometimes more than once), his political views, or his love for the Cubs.   He also loved his crossword puzzles and playing games on the computer-especially spider solitaire.

Frederick is survived by his wife, 4 children; Ernest (Julie) Sharpley of New Auburn, Brian (Jaci) Sharpley of Chetek, Gary Sharpley of Menomonie, Robin Sharpley of Cameron, 15 Grandchildren; Jody, Jaime, Carie, Ambar, Sharlie, Matthew, Anna, Katelyn, Dustin, Danny, Brooke, Mark, Rebecca, Christopher, Nickalus and 31 Great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his mother,  grandchildren Sarah Sharpley-Perry and Greg Sharpley, great-grandchild Donilee Sharpley, and 2 sisters; Violet Selkow and Shirley Sharpley.

Funeral Services for Fred will be 11:00 A.M.  Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Prairie Lake Covenant Church with Pastor Noel Cisneros officiating.  A visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.  Burial will take place following the service at Otterholt Cemetery in Prairie Lake Township.  Fred's family would like to invite everyone to a luncheon and continued fellowship in the church hall following the burial.

Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
