Gary George Hurtis

Gary George Hurtis, age 67, passed away on September 13, 2022, in New Auburn, Wisconsin.

Gary was born to Jeanette and Arthur Hurtis on December 17, 1954, in Chetek, Wisconsin.

Gary loved spending his time out on the water fishing or being in the woods hunting. He was a big outdoorsman, enjoying picking mushrooms or ensuring his garden looked up to par. Gary was a hard worker and lived to work. He loved to socialize with others, he was able to talk to just about anyone. Gary was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, making sure to watch every game he could. He was a longtime member of the VFW in Chetek.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and Arthur, his sister, Debbie Butterfield, and his son, Steven Wojcieckowski.

Gary is survived by his wife, Corrine Anderson of New Auburn, WI, son, Adam Wojcieckowski of Chetek, WI, grandson, Ethan of Racine, WI, brothers Jerry (Cindy Davis) Hurtis of Chetek, WI, and Dave Hurtis of Barron, WI, nieces and nephews, Kim & Rodd of MN, and Kristy & Chris of ID, as well as great nieces and nephews and any other loving family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Chetek VFW on Saturday, September 24, from 1:00-5:00 PM.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
