Gene A. Tietz

Gene A. Tietz 84, of New Auburn passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake, WI.   Gene was born February 7, 1931 in Eau Claire, WI the son of Erma (Larson) and Edward Tietz.

On July 9, 1982 Gene married Barbara A. Wittrock. Gene lived and worked most of his life in the Eau Claire area.   He started his career for Golden Rule Oil Company, then retired in 1987.  From there, he worked for Dave Davis (Indoor Comfort) and Mike Christie Heating and Cooling.  In 1988 Gene and Barbara moved to Chetek, which became their permanent home.   His passion was hunting, fishing, playing cards with his good friends and going to the Narrows Resort Bar to watch the Packers play.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara Ann Tietz, 3 daughters, Lynn (Rick) Taylor, Laurie (Rodney) Taylor and Lisa (Greg) Huber, 6 step-children, Debbie (Duane) Anderson, Butch (Wendy) Duss, Terry Duss, Randy (Sue) Duss, Gary (Carrie) Duss, Jeff (Kelly) Duss, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Also survived by his sisters, Nancy (Bill) Jones and Gloria Jones.  Gene is preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Pete Jones.
