Gloria J. Luer

Gloria Joyce Luer, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2020.  She was born and raised in Chetek, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Olson, father Guy Grant Luer, mother Daphne Luer, sister Gwen Toufar, brother Sherman Luer and sons Michael and Jeffrey Olson.

She is survived by her sons, Robert (Julie) Olson, John (Kristal) Olson and daughter, Holly (Terry) Beecher. Gloria had 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

At age 40 Gloria attended UW Stout in Menominee and obtained a BSA in Art Education with a minor in English. She was employed as the director of the Senior Citizens Activity Center in Chetek for several years and then worked as the Director of a Geriatric Center in Eau Claire, WI. She returned to Chetek and enjoyed many years as the Director of Independent Housing for special needs individuals.

Gloria was an artist and loved working in the mediums of water color, acrylic and oil painting. She served as the president of the Chetek Art League. Gloria was an avid reader, card player and enjoyed endless games of Scrabble.

Her spunky assertive personality will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday,  August 22, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek.   Gloria's family will greet visitors beginning at 1:00 P.M.  She will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek.
