He owned H&M Shoe Store, was a U.S. Postal Mail Carrier and owned a laundromat. He farmed for 9 years in Bloomer, WI and 26 years in Chetek. For a short time he managed the National Farmers Organization Reload in Ch
etek, but his real passion was farming. His hobbies were golfing, fishing, hunting, woodworking and playing Euchre online. He was happiest when he was hanging out with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, sons, Steve (Pam ) Poirier, John (Cheryl) Poirier, daughters, Brenda (Dan) Traynor, Sue (Fred) Figas and Julie (Jim) King, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one brother, Donald (Mary) Poirier and 2 sisters-in-law, Roberta and Kathryn Poirier.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Wilfred and Dennis Poirier, and granddaughter, Katie Poirier.
Funeral Services for Harold will be 11:00 A.M. at Chetek Lutheran Church Thursday, October 29, 2015 with Pastor Guy Redfield officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Pallbearers: Joe, Todd, Patrick Poirier, Daren Sirek, Mitch Johnson, Tim Dietrich.
