Harry L. Hagen, 80 of Chetek passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1935 in Rice Lake the son of Esther and Helmer Hagen.
Harry served in United States Naval Reserve and United States Army as a vehicle recovery specialist and military police. He lived in Oak Creek for 19 years before moving back to Chetek in 1983. He retired as a Welder at the Ladish Company and Manitowoc Shipbuilding. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and Ceska Opera Foundation & Museum in Haugen. Harry enjoyed hunting, shooting sports, reloading, fishing and playing piano, button accordions and socializing with his hunting and musician friends. He also liked repairing and restoring accordions and firearms. He sang with the “Heart of The North” barber shop chorus and as a young man he and his father sang with the “Nordron Male Chorus” in Superior. Harry also raced stock cars for a short period in Superior from 1962-1964.
He is survived by his children; Carlene Showalter of Kansas, Martin (Jengen) Hagen of Waukesha, WI, Ron (Linda) Hagen of South Milwaukee, WI, Cindy Hagen of Racine, WI, Chris Hagen of Barron, WI also survived by grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce (Braden), daughter Connie Hagen and 2 grandchildren Casey and Kayla Hagen.
