Iona Olivia Szurman

Iona Olivia Szurman, passed away May 21, 2014 on her 90th birthday at Knapp Haven Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. She was born May 21, 1924 in Chetek the daughter of Peter and Olivia (Petersen) Matsen.
Iona is survived by her son James A. "Jack" (Darla) Colvard of Chetek, two grandchildren, Jim E. (Jayna) Colvard of Chetek and Jessica A. Colvard-Botts of Woodland Hills, CA and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by one sister Verna L. Paulsen of New Richmond and one brother-in-law Paul Petre of Seattle, WA, and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Szurman, one brother, Earl P. Matsen; three sisters, Evelyn L. Nispel, Reta and Bob Van Camp, and Dorothy E. Petre.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Lake View Cemetery in Chetek.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
