Irene May Bahr, 83 of Chetek went to be with the Lord, December 4, 2015. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at Knapp Haven with her loving family by her side.
Irene was born May 6, 1932 in Stanley, WI to her beloved parents, the late Marjorie and George Drace. She was the last living child of five.
Irene married Harold August 27, 1949 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Together they raised their children in Eau Claire until Harold’s retirement. About 28 years ago Harold and Irene made Chetek their home on Prairie Lake where they enjoyed golf, bowling and of course fishing. Irene had a passion to shop, tend her flower gardens, play family card games and loved music. She was also a member of Chetek Lutheran Church.
Irene is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Harold; her three daughters, Pam (Al) Fuerst of Cameron, Wisconsin, Paula (Jim) Hritz of St. Charles, Missouri, Nancy Bahr of Dadeville, Alabama; one son, Greg (Lynn) Bahr of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, 5 Grandchildren; Corey, Kelly, Heather, Samantha, Alex and 3 beautiful Great-grandchildren; Samuel, Thomas and Parker. She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter; Sheila Jean Bahr and four siblings; Genevieve, George, Bud, June.
Funeral Services for Irene will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 10, 2015 at Chetek Lutheran Church. Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services. A luncheon and continued fellowship will follow the funeral service in the church hall. Burial will take place in Rest Haven Gardens, Eau Claire privately.
