Irene Henrietta (Ingwell) Carey

Irene H. Carey, 95, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Comforts of Home in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She was born September 11, 1918 in Blanchardville, WI the daughter of Clara (Hanson) and Albert Ingwell.
A lifelong resident of Chetek, Irene married Patrick W. Carey on the Carey farm June 30, 1940. Together they had two children, Kathleen (Carey) Jorgensen and Patrick S. Carey. Irene was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on their farms in Chetek.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (John) Jorgensen of Eau Claire, WI, one brother, Herbert Von Arx of New Glarus, WI, three grandchildren, Erin Jorgensen, Brook (James Gwillim) Jorgensen, Eric (Meghan Miller) Jorgensen, four great grandchildren, Alayna, John, Paige and Carter. Also survived by other nieces, nephews and friends.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-father, Emil Von Arx, son and two brothers; Marshall Ingwell and Donald Von Arx.
Irene's family would like to thank Nurse Cindy Maher, St. Joseph Hospital Home & Health Hospice and the staff at Comforts of Home for their compassionate care and support.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Carey will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Funeral Home in Chetek with Pastor Dan DeYarman officiating. Family and friends may gather from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will take place in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek, WI.
