James John Hrbacek

James J. Hrbacek, 67 of Chetek passed away peacefully at his residence on February 5, 2017.  He was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 30, 1949 the son of Joseph and Maryann (Kovanda) Hrbacek.

James graduated from high school in Chicago and entered the United States Army August 20, 1970.  After serving his duty in Vietnam he was honorably discharged June 7, 1973. James married Linda M. Lojewski September 21, 1980 in Chicago.  James and his family moved to Chetek in 1998, where he retired from the United Postal Service in 2015.

James coached baseball and football in Northlake, Illinois and was a member of the VFW post #10331 in Chetek.  He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife Linda, children Amie (Jason) Fotiadis of Cameron, Joseph Hrbacek and James Hrbaeck both of Chetek, 5 grandchildren, Aly, Joey, Corrine, Blake, Leonidis and one sister Kathy (Mike) Jurak and their son Matthew of South Dakota.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church.  Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service for a visitation.  Following the service, please join Linda and her family at Red's for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
