James "Jimmy" Norman Rippy, age 56, passed away on September 14, 2023, after a long and courageous 4-year battle with cancer.
Jimmy was born on September 18, 1966, to James and Carol Rippy in Sterling, Illinois.
Jimmy moved to the Rice Lake area about 30 years ago from Rockford, Illinois. He began working at McCain Foods and had been there for 25 years, he was the "Onion Ring King". Jimmy was a massive sports fan and was very knowledgeable on the subject, he could tell you anything you ever wanted to know about any sport. His favorite teams to watch and root for were the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Cubs. Jimmy loved spending time with and keeping in touch with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is preceded in death by is father, James Rippy, grandparents, and uncle, Bruce Rippy.
Jimmy is survived by, his mother, Carol Calkins, sister, Carolyn (Ken) Wilson, nephew, Steven Wilson, aunt, Beverly (Leeroy) Asbury, uncles, Robert (Donna) Rippy, Holly (Sheila) Rippy, and Wally Rippy, as well as many cousins and many, many loving friends.
The family would like to thank the kindness and devoted care that was provided by Dr. Husak and the oncology nurses at the Marshfield Clinic in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. They were truly a blessing. Please send any donations to the cancer fund in Jimmy's name.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek, Wisconsin, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. The family invites those attending to a luncheon in the fellowship hall following the service.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
