Jeanette Ann (Pragit) Harris

Jeanette “Jeanie” A. Harris, 80 of Chetek passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.  She was born in Chicago, Illinois April 26, 1936 the daughter of Peter and Pauline (Jurinek) Pragit.

Jeanie graduated from Chetek high school in 1953.  October 8, 1966 she married the love of her life, Sonny Harris in Burbank, Illinois.  Jeanie retired from Turtle Wax Corp., Chicago in 1989, shortly thereafter Sonny retired and together they moved to Chetek in 1990.  She also worked in Chetek after retirement at Allied Health Chiropractic until age 72.  Jeanie enjoyed cheering on all the Chicago sports teams, pontooning, snowmobiling, traveling, deer hunting with Sonny and her family.

Jeanie is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years Darold “Sonny” J. Harris, children; Eugene (Karen) Magiera, Paula Magiera, Victoria (Thomas) Bonelli, Johanna Magiera, grandchildren; Donald Oksanen, Jennifer (Ryan) Olson, 3 great grandchildren; Brayden, Mitchell, Carson, 2 brothers; Richard Pragit, Frank Cup and many nieces, nephews and friends.  She will be deeply missed by her BFF Evelyn May, over 55 years of friendship.  She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers; Russell Pragit and Gus Cup.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Ralph Marquardt officiating.  Family and friends may gather for a visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery.  Please view and sign the online guestbook at www.burnhamours.com.
