Jessica Joann Martin

Jessica JoAnn Martin, 35 unexpectedly passed away on October 23, 2017 in Oceanside, California. She was born December 8, 1981 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin daughter of Michael M. and Tammy C. (Davis) Martin. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience from the University of California San Diego on March 21st, 2009 with honors. She worked in Quality Control at J&D Laboratories in Vista, CA.

Jessica had a sweet and gentle spirit. While searching for her dream job in medicine she provided home health care for elderly patients. She was a volunteer at the Sharp Medical Center Emergency Room in San Diego. She had a great love for animals. She enjoyed running and she completed the San Diego Rock & Roll Half Marathon with the San Diego Track Club. She enjoyed other athletic activities such boogie-boarding, weight-lifting and kick-boxing. She enjoyed reading, long walks on the beach and frozen yogurt with lots of toppings. She had a great sense of humor and was quick with a witty comment.

Jessica is survived by her parents Michael Martin of Riverside, California, Tammy Martin and Glenn Oberholtz of Destin, FL, her grandparents Louis and Chieko Martin of Apple Valley, Minnesota, her step grandparents Dewey and Jennifer Oberholtz of Ivins, UT, her uncles and aunts Gary and Lisa Davis of Chetek, Al and Jane Davis of Chetek, Jon and Lori Davis of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Lynn Martin of Concord, New Hampshire.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Wallace and Joyce Davis of Chetek and Jo Faith Martin of Ladysmith.

A memorial service for Jessica will be at 2:00PM Saturday November 4th, at the Chetek Lutheran Church with Pastor Guy Redfield officiating. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to service. A luncheon and continued fellowship will be served in the church hall following the service.
