Joan Carol (Udisches) Cochrane, 85 of Chetek slipped away to heaven on March 2, 2016. She was born October 24, 1930 to Anthony and Gladys Udisches in West Allis, Wisconsin.
Joan attended Carroll College in Waukesha before graduating with a degree in psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She married Thomas O. Cochrane on March 6, 1954, beginning her life of loving wife and mother. She and her family moved to Crookston, MN, Sioux City, IA, Minneapolis, MN and finally to wonderful Chetek, WI. She loved her family, reading, bridge club, birds and crossword puzzles.
She was the proud matriarch of a large family and is survived by her husband Tom, daughter; Lorraine (Martin) Gohr of Ferris, Texas, sons; Steven (Jennifer) Cochrane of Richmond, Virginia, Stuart (Toni) Cochrane of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, John (Kathleen) Cochrane of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one brother John Anthony Udisches of Cupertino, California.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Chetek Lutheran Church with Pastor Guy Redfield officiating. Family and friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. A luncheon and continued fellowship will be in the church basement following the service. Her family appreciates the Mayo Hospice workers as well as “Just Like Home” elder care facility. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Chetek Lutheran Church or Calhoun Memorial Library in Chetek.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
