John Joseph Akim Ii

John Joseph Akim II, age 58, passed away on October 10, 2023, in the town of Poskin, Wisconsin.

John was born to Albert Akim and Elizabeth (Betty) Bossany on March 18, 1965, in Stillwater, Minnesota.

John was a handyman at heart and loved to fix or build whatever he could. He also enjoyed woodworking. He was a massive Chicago sports fan, whether it be the Bears, Bulls, Cubs, or Blackhawks, you could always find him rooting them on. He was an outdoorsman too, enjoying four-wheeling, stargazing, or spending time with his family around the bonfire. He will be dearly missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Akim and Elizabeth (Betty) Bossany, and sister, Brenda Rettinghaus.

John is survived by, his children, Johnny (Brea) Akim III and Jade (Tyler) Akim, grandchildren, Rasheed, Evelyn, Isabelle, and Addison, siblings, Bennet (Bonnie) Akim, Bob Akim, Michelle (Jason) Baskerville, and Melanie Akim, and former wife, Angela Akim, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

A Memorial Service and Visitation will be held at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek, Wisconsin on Sunday, October 22, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM with a short service a 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Chetek Lanes following the service to cheer on the Chicago Bears in his honor and share stories together over food and drinks.
