John H. Turner, Sr., 73 of Chetek passed away at his residence Wednesday, June 18, 2014 with his loving family by his side. John was born October 22, 1940 in Columbus Junction, Iowa the son of Esther (Swedensky) and William Turner.
September 8, 1978 John married Mary L. Davis in Barron, WI. John was a member of the Eagles Club in Muscatine, Iowa. He loved to hunt, fish and watch western movies. He also enjoyed his quality time with the grandchildren and his family while having cook-outs and visiting the casino to play the slot machines.
John is survived by his beloved wife Mary, children; John (Debbie) Turner of Wilson, Judy (Tom) Ebler of Chetek, Jackie Robinson of Ladysmith, Jack Davis of Chetek, Louise (Jerome) Call of Ladysmith, Earl (Missy) Turner of Muscatine, Iowa. Further survived by 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, one sister, Rose Bishop and one brother George Turner.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jeff Turner, granddaughter, Robin Robinson, great-grandson, Isaac Parker, brother, Charlie Turner, sisters, Dolly Thorton, Frances Wilson and Alice Pidgeon.
A Memorial Service will be held at Judy Ebler’s home at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014. 2274 2 3/4 Avenue, Chetek, WI.
