Jon A Dahl, 59, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He was raised in the Chetek area, lived in Eau Claire for several years until settling in Florida in 1984. Jon was employed in the restaurant and hotel industry for twenty plus years as a manager at the Clearwater Beach Hilton, Quality Inn, and at the Black Pearl Restaurant in Dunedin. In 2006, he joined the team and was currently employed with Publix Super Markets.
Jon was Lutheran and devoted much of his time to his church, Grace Lutheran. He assisted with many weekly activities and was willing to do anything that the church asked of him. He was often referred to as the “Social Director” as he was the organizer of many travel trips, dinners, block parties, Christmas Get-Togethers whether it be with family, neighbors, and/or his church family. This was something he thrived on. Jon also loved traveling. In addition to his annual trips to Wisconsin to visit his family, he took several cruises to the Bahamas, trips to Europe and Norway, where he and his family visited many relatives.
Survivors include: Sisters, Kathy Nelson of Cambridge, MN, Susan Waterhouse of Haines, AK, Sister-in-law, Linda Dahl of Hudson, WI, Aunts and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, many cousins, many friends and his dog, Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlyn and Eilene Dahl and brothers, Larry Dahl and Tom Dahl.
Services will be held …… in Florida. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Burnham Ours Funeral Home, Chetek, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held at 11 am June 20 th at New Hope Lutheran Church, Sand Creek, Wisconsin with visitation one hour prior.
The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
