Judy Kay (Briddell) Zehner

October 5, 1946 — July 9, 2017

Judy Kay Zehner, 70, of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at her home.  Judy was born Judy Kay Briddell on October 5, 1946 in Superior, Wisconsin the daughter of Lloyd and Joyce Briddell.

She worked for the School district of Solon Springs, managed and owned a food service.  She was Town Clerk for the Town of Chetek, Barron County from 1991 – 2011, Bookkeeper for the Town of Chetek Fire District and Executive Secretary to the Chetek Chamber of Commerce from 1998 – 2008.

Judy loved being involved with her community; she volunteered to the Chetek Lake Protection Association and served as secretary for years as coordinator to the Chetek Liberty Fest Parade (1998-2008) Harvest Fest and Christmas Holiday festivities.  Her fun time was golfing, gardening and reading.  She and Jerry loved to travel most of the United States and Canada.

Judy is survived by her husband Jerry, Chetek, two sons, Jeff (Annie) Leusman, Duluth, MN; Jay (Karen) Leusman, Abilene, KS, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, sisters, Laura DaRonco, Gloria (Jesse) James, Penny Briddell and one brother Tim Briddell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Joyce Briddell, sister, Tina Stangler and her husband Erwin, two brothers-in-law, John and Al, sister-in-law, Marion and her niece, Teddi.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at Chetek Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service.  Following the church service continued Celebration of Life and dinner will take place at the Pokegama.

Judy will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
