Ken Pfaff, 84, of Chetek, Wisconsin (formerly of Rockton, IL) went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 19, 2013.  He left peacefully, with family and friends at his bedside.

“Kenny” and his wife Bea were builders of Kens Kampsites in Chetek (now Northern Exposure Campground) and ran the campground for 30 years.  Kenny loved people and made many good friends while running the campground.  And, while very busy with the campground, he always made time to help others, never turning down anyone who needed his help.

Ken was a very hard worker and always provided well for his family.  He was a skilled carpenter and craftsman and could build and repair just about everything.  He also loved to fish and golf.

Before moving to Chetek in 1972, he had been a lifelong resident of Rockton, IL; where he worked as a carpenter and built and ran the B-Hive restaurant with his wife Bea.

Ken was a Veteran of the United States Army and a Korean War Veteran.  He earned a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the war.  He married his sweetheart Beulah (Bea) Funk on December 3, 1952 and they were married for 60 years.  He was a member of the Chetek United Methodist Church and a former member of the Old Stone Church in Rockton, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher.  Ken was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion both in Rockton and Chetek, and was a past Master of the lodge in Rockton.

Ken was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.  He leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Bea Pfaff, Chetek, WI; daughters: Deb (John) Hoekman and Bonnie Pfaff, Chetek, WI; Wendy Pfaff, Cameron, WI; grandchildren: Robert Norman II, Beloit, WI; Heather Norman and Melissa Ally, Chetek, WI; Jen (Nick) Katherine, St. Paul, MN; Tom Lieberherr, Baraboo, WI; and Steven Lieberherr, Decorah, IA; great grandchildren: Brody and Logan Norman, Kendal and Kacee Evans and newborn baby Nick Kathrine, many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Hulda Pfaff, brothers, Bob, Don and Dick Pfaff and his sister Arlene Mortensen.

The Funeral Service/Celebration of Life for Ken will be held at the Chetek United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.  Pastor Carrie Hamm will officiate.  Following the service military honors will be rendered at the church by Howard Campbell Ganske American Legion Post 179 of Chetek.  Following the military honors the family would like to invite their guest to join them for fellowship and lunch in the church fellowship hall.

Ken’s family will greet friends at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 with a Masonic Service scheduled for 6:45 P.M.  They will also greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Kenneth will be laid to rest at the Lake View Cemetery this spring.
