Kevin John Newman, 50 of Chetek, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at his home.
Kevin was born on October 31, 1961 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to James BA and Norma Newman. Kevin was baptized and confirmed at Dovre Lutheran Church. He attended Chetek High School and graduated in 1980. He then attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Rice Lake for two years in the auto repair program.
He enjoyed taking care of his garden with all his flowers and plants. In the past Kevin enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on cars. He also enjoyed working on the family farm. He enjoyed the camaraderie and closeness that working together with his brothers brought.
Kevin leaves to celebrate his memory, father James, brothers, Craig, Sherwin (Cheryl), and Paul Newman all of Chetek; sisters, Vicki (Richard) Huset, River Falls, WI; Ellen (Scott) Fransway, Chippewa Falls, WI; six nieces and nephews: Jackie (Dave) Tester, Rick (Julie) Huset, Laura (Jeff Casady) Newman, Mitchell (Molly) Newman, Megan and James Fransway, five great nieces and nephews, Sabrina and Nicholas Tester, Jenna and Liam Huset and Ingrid Newman. He is also survived by his faithful cat “Tiger Paw”.
He was preceded in death by his mother Norma on December 15, 2008 and his grandparents, John and Marie Newman and Marcus and Hannah Evenson.
Kevin was a very kind hearted and giving person; always willing to give a hand to family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.

The funeral service for Kevin will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dovre Lutheran Church. Kevin’s family will be greeting visitors at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and then again at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship immediately following the service at the Dovre Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Kevin will be laid to rest alongside his mother Norma at the Lake View Cemetery following the luncheon.
