Kimmarie Winans

KimMarie Winans, 57, of Bayport, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Our Lady of Pease Hospice in St. Paul, Minnesota, after she lost her battle with cancer and went home to be with Jesus. KimMarie was born on December 22, 1965, in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Judy and Dave Winans.

KimMarie leaves to celebrate her memory: her mother, Judy Winans of Chetek, Judy's special friend, Duane Reischel, brother-in-law, Mark Schmidt, aunts, uncles, several cousins, and many friends, including her "besties" Becki Alexander and Jennifer Ranes, and her fur babies, Hercules, Stevie, and Shamrock.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Winans, and her sister, Kelly Jo Winans Schmidt.

KimMarie graduated from Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park, MN and went on to be employed by several businesses, her last job being at Animal Emergency & Referral Center in Oakdale, MN which was her "All time favorite with her best boss and employees to work with", as quoted by KimMarie.

KimMarie was a member of AA and celebrated 36 years of sobriety. She shared her love of AA with many in the Twin Cities and in Chetek, WI. She was also on the Board of Directors for Silver Sobriety - an outpatient treatment program for the elderly.

She will be remembered by many for her special smile, her caring ways, her laughter, and her desire to live life to the fullest.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Chetek Alano Club, 216 Stout St, Chetek WI, 54728, on June 10, 2023. Visitation will be from 11 AM-Noon with service at Noon.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
