Leonard Matt Brady

Leonard M. Brady, 82 of Chetek passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer.  He was born July 26, 1936 in Chetek, the son of Marian (Gillette) and Matt Brady.

Leonard married Geraldine Pierce September 15, 1957 in Chetek.  He retired from dairy farming, hauling milk and Jenny-O.  Leonard loved anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, tall stories and cutting wood.  He was also a mentor for the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts in Chetek and a lifelong member of the Chetek Lutheran Church.

Leonard is survived by his children; Dixie (Mike) Conoboy of Chetek, Brian (LuAnn) Brady of New Auburn, Roman (Veronica) Brady of Bloomer, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one sister; Helen Note of Minnesota and Leonards four-legged companion, Daisy.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Geraldine, son; James, 2 sisters; Leona Niedzielko, Jean Brady and one great-great grandson; Alexander Derousseau.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 10 at Chetek Lutheran Church with Pastor Guy Redfield officiating.  Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service.  Leonard and Geraldine will be laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery at a later date.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
