Lillian May (Derringer) Reidinger

Lillian (Lillie May) Reidinger, 93 of Prairie Lake Township peacefully passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 in her home.  Lillian was born June 10, 1921 in Brown County, Indiana to Willie Earl and Ruby (Turner) Derringer.

Lillian grew up and attended Brown County schools, at a young age she worked as a nanny taking care of children.  In later years, Lillian went to Columbus, Indiana and worked as a radio inspector of airplanes.  In 1944 Lillian enlisted in the WAVES in Cincinnati, Ohio and did basic training in Bronx, New York. She was later assigned to the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.

In 1944 she met her loving husband, Bernard (Bernie) Reidinger.  After discharge from the military they moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where they built their home and raised 5 children.  Upon Bernie’s retirement they constructed a new home in Chetek, spending their winters in Florida and Arizona.

Lillian is survived by her five children; Jan (Earl) Ray of West Allis, WI, Bernard (Sharon) Reidinger of Grand View, WI, Steven Reidinger of Eau Claire, WI, John (Joyce) Reidinger of Chetek, WI, Michael (Sheryl) Reidinger of Eau Claire, WI, Grandchildren; Diana, Lori, Christa, Becky, Bernie (Twilla), Nicole (Rodger), Stevie Jr., Anne (Scott), Shelly (Tim), Great-grandchildren; Amy, Kylie, Cole, Conley, Hannah, Rachel, Noah, Ashley, Tyler, Gavin, Rodger III, Jarred, Trista, Thomas, Dominic, Hailey and Karlie.   Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 63 years, Bernie, who passed away in 2007, one sister and five brothers.

Per Lillian’s wishes, funeral services were held privately.  She was laid to rest alongside her husband at St. Boniface Cemetery. Donations can be made in Lillian’s honor to the American Cancer Society. Please view and sign the online guest book at www.burnhamours.com
