Loretta L. Daley, age 97 of Chetek formerly from Argo, Illinois passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 in Chetek. She was born June 26, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Anna Luchowski.
Loretta graduated from Argo High School, then attended De Paul University and John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Loretta married Wallace W. Daley at St. Blase Catholic Church in Argo, Illinois. She worked as a patent specialist with CPC, Int., and was also a Professional Interior Decorator and Real Estate Broker. She was a resident in Chetek since 1969.
Loretta was very active in volunteer work at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Barron Memorial Medical Center and Barron County Historical Society (Pioneer Museum), Adult Literacy Tutor and was always available to her neighbors and friends when they needed assistance. She enjoyed music, painting with oils, and was an international traveler. Loretta enjoyed playing piano, bridge and sewing. She was secretary of the Barron-Washburn counties board of realtors, president and vice-president of Elk Ladies Auxiliary, Rice Lake Lodge #1441, active in the Republican Party, Local civic affairs and chaplain of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #179.
Loretta is survived by her great-niece; Laurie (Robert) Bauer and their children Sara (Tyler Haqq) Bauer and Joey Bauer. Also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wallace and siblings; Valerie (John) Stalowy, Sally (Al) Koski, Virginia (Walter) Kazmierski, John Luchowski, Alexander (Jewel) Luchowski, Stanley (Estelle) Luchowski “Leske” and William Luchowski.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. St. Boniface Catholic Church, Monday January 16, 2017. Family and friends may gather one hour prior to the Mass for a visitation. All are invited to a luncheon and continued fellowship in the church hall following the Mass. Loretta will be laid to rest in the Daley Mausoleum at Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
