Lorraine Helen (Ehrhard) Miller

Lorraine H. Miller, 97 of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away early Sunday morning, May 1, 2011 at the Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek.

She was born on January 3, 1914 in New Auburn, Wisconsin to Phillip and Clara (Gettinger) Ehrhard.  She married Elmer J. Miller on May 31, 1937 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.  She attended Eau Claire State College where she was an athlete and broke a school record in track and field in the high jump.  She received a teaching credential and taught in a one-room school prior to her marriage.  She resided in the New Auburn/Chetek area all her life.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her parents; and three brothers, Charles, Phillip Jr., and Wayne Ehrhard.  Lorraine leaves to celebrate her memory, two daughters, Marjorie (Gary) Andersen of McKinney, TX, and Jean Miller of San Diego, CA, two grandchildren, Birgit (Fernando) Andersen-Moreno and Dr. Margret Andersen; great-grandchild, Stefan Moreno; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at the Chetek Lutheran Church on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11:00 A.M.  The family will greet visitors at the Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek on Monday from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and again at the church one hour prior to the service.  Lorraine will be laid to rest along side her husband at the Lakeview Cemetery following the funeral. Pallbearers will be John Boortz ~ Bill Ehrhard ~ Michael Ehrhard ~ Dennis Faschingbauer ~ Jay Olds ~ Dennis Olson.

The family wishes to invite their guests to return to the church after the cemetery service for lunch and fellowship.
