Mabel Lucille (Erickson) Parks

August 20, 1911 — June 22, 2011

Mabel L. Parks, 99, lived a long and full life in the Chetek area until her passing at Knapp Haven.
Born to Louis and Mary Erickson, in the Dovre community, she completed school at Chetek High School then continued on to Eau Claire Normal School to complete her Teachers Certificate.  She married Kenneth “Dutch” Parks in 1931.   They were blessed with three children, Natalie, Betty and Robert.
She was very active with her church, Chetek Lutheran Church and the Deborah Circle. She worked over 20 years with the Farmer’s Store in Chetek. She enjoyed visiting, bowling and traveling with her family and friends. Her travels took her all around the states and in Europe.  She enjoyed life and saw the best in everyone she met.
Funeral service for Mable will be held at the Chetek Lutheran Church on Sunday, June 26, at 2:00 P.M.  Pastor Guy Redfield will officiate the service.  Music will be provided by the Robinson Sisters and Julie Odil will be the organist.
The family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service at the church. Mable will be laid to rest next to her husband Kenneth at the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek following the service. The family wishes to invite guests back to the church for fellowship and lunch.
Pallbearers will be Gene Dysland, Trevor Dysland, Rodney Olson, Russell Olson, Laverne "Lefty" Larson and Tony Turner.
Mable leaves to celebrate her memory, son, Robert Parks, Chetek, daughter, Betty L. Bell, Ridott, IL, grandchildren, Eric Bell, Brookfield, IL, Toni L. (Tony) Turner, Andalusia, AL, Natalie L. Townsend, Ridott, IL, great grandchildren, Jason (Maery) Turner, Andrew AFB, Maryland, Kin (Jessica) Turner, Watertown, NY, Daniel Turner, Hailey, ID, Andrea Townsend, Ridott, IL, Stacy Kemp, Lawton, OK, great great grandchildren, Laecy, Lillian, Abygael and Emberlynn Turner, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Erickson, husband, Kenneth L. "Dutch" Parks and daughter, Natalie M. Parks.
The Burnham-Ours Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
