Margaret Homme, 87 of Chetek, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at her home in Sioux Creek Township with her loving family at her side. Margaret was born on August 20, 1925 in Almena, Wisconsin the daughter of Michael and Mary (Neubauer) Stauner.
Margaret leaves to celebrate her memory: children, Rodney (Linda) Homme, Chetek; Dennis (Kathy) Homme, Cameron; Gloria (Jack) Bresina, Altoona; Richard Homme, Winter; Kenneth (Janet) Homme, New Auburn; Joan (Gregory) Davis, Chetek; Brian Homme, Bloomington, MN; Dean Homme, Hudson; Jeffrey (Terri) Homme, Madison; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Peter (Debbie) Stauner, Barron; sisters, Rose Klingelhoets, Barron; Laura Shipla, Rice Lake; Carol Hendricks, Bentonville, AR; Theresa (Ray) Envall; Proctor, MN; and many other loving family and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; children, David Homme and Diane Thurston; son-in-law, Rick Thurston; daughter-in-law, Karen Homme; sister, Josephine Gubbin; brother, Albert Stauner; and a baby brother in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Deacon Michael Cullen and Pastor Dennis Fowler will officiate the service.
Margaret’s family will be greeting visitors at Burnham-Ours Funeral Home in Chetek on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 4:00P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and again at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Margaret will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Norman at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery following the Mass. The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship at the church following the cemetery service. Casket Bearers will be: Jerry Homme, John Bresina, Darrin Homme, Mike Homme, Brian Homme, Joe Davis, Justin Thurston, Nathan Homme, Tanner Homme, Steele Homme, and Aaron Berry.
Margaret was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chetek V.F.W. Post 10331 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chetek American Legion Post 179. She will be honored with Auxiliary Post services on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
