Marjorie Elaine Sheehan, 87 years old, passed away peacefully in her Chetek residence on April 13th, 2017. She was born on August 23, 1929 in Sidney, Montana to Oscar and Bernice Petrik.
Marjorie grew up with two brothers, Don and Warren, and survived by her younger sister, Vera. She grew up in Lambert, Montana and graduated from Lambert High School in 1946. Upon graduating, she met a charming young military man by the name of Lloyd Sheehan and it was love at first sight. They were married within a year of meeting and began a lifetime of farming together. Marjorie had a multitude of jobs, ranging from homemaker to bus driver to a caregiver to the elderly. But most importantly, she was a mother. She gave birth to her and Lloyd’s first child in 1951, and they named her Connie. Then came Rick in 1953, and the bumbling baby of the family, Todd, in 1963. They lived on the farm as a family until 1988, when they bought a residential home in Sidney, Montana. She lived a happy life as her children moved out and she watched them make families of their own. Everything was fine until her husband, Lloyd, died of a heart attack in 1990. Marjorie then lived alone in Sidney for 20 years, where she made friends with all the neighbors and went on daily walks with her loving dog, Dennis. She enjoyed having guests over whenever she could and loved to bake goods for all to taste. In 2009, Todd and his family moved Marjorie and Dennis from Sidney to Chetek, Wisconsin to be closer to family. In Chetek, she loved to sit outside with Dennis and her new dog, Sweetie, and talk to the neighbors and those who pass by. There she spent the next eight years surrounded by loved ones and friendly faces until the day she passed.
Marjorie is survived by her sister, Vera, sons Rick and Todd, and grandchildren Shelby, Christy, Jimmy, Rachael, and Chad. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Sheehan, her daughter Connie Affholter, and many friends and relatives.
